May 6, 2023

We're excited to announce that we're hosting Kai Thomas for a virtual meet & greet on Wednesday, May 17 @ 6:30pm.

His novel In the Upper Country is a sweeping epic set at the terminus of the Underground Railroad, with part of it taking place in Amherstburg.

We'll be hosting a Q&A with Kai about his book, the process of writing it, and the Amherstburg content, and we'll hear him read from it. Plus, the first 25 people to buy the book will also receive a pass for free admission to the Amherstburg Freedom Museum! (If you already bought the book from us, you can bring it with you to the event, and ask for a pass.) And don't forget, when you attend our events, you receive 10% off any book purchased that night.

To attend, you can join at the bookshop to watch him on screen with us, or join on Zoom. To register for Zoom, simply email info@riverbookshop.com and let us know! We'll see you then,
